Lincoln Kern’s Darebin Creek Adventure
About
Darebin Creek in Reservoir and Heidelberg West has some great grassy action along its length. Local resident and all-round grassland guru Lincoln Kern, from Practical Ecology, will show us around!
We’ll see:
Open grassy woodland giant Red Gums where Narrap Rangers are implementing biodiversity offsets
Banyule’s adjacent Northern Grassland Reserve with forb planting and direct seeding
A cute little high-quality grassland with Matted Flax-lily protected by an engine block (!)
Efforts to direct seed native grasses on a nature strip.
Remember to wear closed shoes, dress sensibly for the weather and bring sunscreen and water!
