This is an easy 11 km trail of flat, gravel and uneven dirt tracks, paved footpaths, and some road crossings. It includes a short trip on public transport (bus). 

The details:

Bring your own lunch, hat, sunscreen, water and wet weather gear if the weather demands it. Sneakers are adequate. 

Make your own way to Mentone by public transport. We will meet at 10.30am at the 811 bus stop, on the corner of Mentone Station/Como Pde where we will take the 10.39 bus to Braeside Park. 

We will walk for 8km in the park - please note the only toilets are "trees" until we reach our late lunch spot at the information centre. 

After lunch, there is an option for those who have had enough walking to take a bus back to Mentone (note it is an hourly bus service). For the rest of us, a further 3km walk through Dingley Village, visiting the tiny Rowan Woodland Flora and Fauna Reserve on the way to the Springvale Road bus service, which will take us to Springvale or Glen Waverley Stations.
