Webinar - The impacts of feral deer on the rainforests of East Gippsland
About
Join us to hear Environmental Scientist Tom Crook speak about the impacts of feral deer on rainforests and the flow on impacts to wildlife, water quality and recovery after bushfires.
Feral deer are stomping, chomping and wallowing their way across Victoria and damaging our waterways, habitats, farmland and public safety.
On the ground land managers have been observing the spread of that damage and feral deer across Victoria, from the deserts for north-west Victoria to the rainforests of East Gippsland.
Tom Crook, Environmental Scientist and Facilitator of the East Gippsland Rainforest Conservation Management Network has been observing the damage done by feral deer to East Gippsland’s rainforests for over a decade.
For over a decade Tom has worked to restore and care for rainforests across East Gippsland and has seen the growing impact of feral deer on these habitats.
Tom will cover different trials to bring down feral deer numbers and mitigate damage to rainforests and their results.
