Grassy Talk - When is grassy grazing good?

About

Dr Dan Nugent is back, this time to chew the cud with us over grazing native grasslands. And there's a lot to cover: the impacts and benefits of grazing under various regimes, the differences between sheep, cattle and macropod grazing, the implications of changing from grazing to fire (or vice versa), and the costs and risks involved in all of it!

Dan is a reserve manager and ecologist working at Bush Heritage Australia in central Victoria. He’s spent the last 15 years working in ecological restoration and conservation research across the state. He’s also President of the Northern Plains Conservation Management Network and Friends of Terrick Terrick National Park, which works under the name Northern Plains Conservation Alliance. And he’s involved with Conservation Partners on the Patho Plains - a new initiative being launched to support grassland graziers.
